U današnjem jezičnom savjetniku poslovnog engleskog jezika pozabavit ćemo se temom odlaska radnika s radnog mjesta. U hrvatskom jeziku poslodavac može uručiti otkaz radniku, no radnik isto tako može dati otkaz na radno mjesto. Na engleskom jeziku taj jedinstveni pojam ‘otkaza’ u hrvatskom jeziku zamjenjuju najmanje dva različita izraza.
In today’s Business English Language Tip we will address the issue of worker’s leaving his/her workplace. In the Croatian language, the employer may dismiss the worker or the worker may hand in his/her resignation. In the English language, that single expression in Croatian is replaced by at least two different expressions in English.
