Maria was running late for work and she did not have time for a proper lunch. She wanted to have a quick meal so she ran fast to a quick service restaurant to eat fast food.
Fast and quick both mean moving with great speed. However, the difference is significant.
We use quick to refer to something happening in a short period of time, or a shorter than expected time.
Examples: She took a quick shower.
We made a quick decision, but it turned out to be a good one.
Pridjevi fast i quick imaju isto značenje; kretanje velikom brzinom, no razlika je značajna.
Fast refers to things that happen or go at high speed, e.g. a train, a person running; quick in movement.
Examples: She loves fast cars.
Usain Bolt is the fastest man in the world.
Curiosity: Why fast food and not quick food?
While fast food refers to food with no nutritious value, quick food indicates something completely different. It is also food that is prepared in a short period of time but it may (and it usually does) contain more nutritious value.
